Working Groups

The newly formed working groups of the Society of Junior Doctors are composed of people with similar research interests and all levels of experience in the research process. This initiative aims to create groups of people with similar stimuli who, through online and/or face-to-face meetings, will exchange knowledge, ideas and produce research work more effectively. The groups are dynamic and constantly renewed based on the research interests of the incoming members to the Society.

Cardiology Working Group

The group aims to undertake, mainly, systematic reviews with or without meta-analysis on a wide variety of research questions covering the whole spectrum of Cardiology.

Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery Working Group

The group aims to investigate (mainly through high-quality systematic reviews and meta-analyses) key and up-to-date research questions, covering a variety of topics in both vascular and cardiothoracic surgery. Main purpose of this group is that through teamwork the members would have a chance to improve their skills in writing Meta-analyses and Systematic Reviews.

Dermatology & Plastic Surgery Working Group

The group aims to undertake, mainly, systematic reviews with or without meta-analysis on a wide variety of research questions covering the whole spectrum of Dermatology & Plastic Surgery.

General Surgery Working Group

The group aims to investigate (mainly through high-quality systematic reviews and meta-analyses) key and up-to-date research questions, covering a variety of topics such as: transplantation, surgical oncology, pediatric surgery, bariatric surgery, trauma surgery, minimally invasive surgery, endocrine surgery, and hepatopancreatobiliary surgery.

Hematology & Oncology Working Group

The group aims to undertake, mainly, systematic reviews with or without meta-analysis on a wide variety of research questions covering the whole spectrum of Hematology and Oncology.

Internal Medicine Working Group

The group aims to undertake systematic reviews with or without meta-analysis in order to investigate key research questions, covering a variety of topics of Internal Medicine and its related specialties, e.g. Infectious diseases, Rheumatology, Gastroenterology, etc.

Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Medicine Working Group

The group aims to investigate (mainly through high-quality systematic reviews and meta-analyses) key research questions, covering a variety of topics such as: pregnancy and puerperium, maternal-fetal medicine, infertility, assisted reproduction and fertility preservation, gynecological oncology, urogynecology and breast surgery.

Orthopedic Surgery Working Group

The group aims to undertake, mainly, systematic reviews with or without meta-analysis on a wide variety of research questions covering the whole spectrum of Orthopedics.

Otorhinolaryngology, Skull Base, Head & Neck Surgery Working Group

The group aims to undertake systematic reviews with or without meta-analysis in a wide spectrum of subjects of Otolaryngology and other allied specialties. The focus will be a multidisciplinary approach of the skull base, head and neck and facial plastics.
