- ResumeDioni – Pinelopi Petsiou is currently a 5th year medical student at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece. She has a strong interest in Otolaryngology - ENT surgery and therefore she has undertaken two medical elective placements in the ENT department of Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust, UK (September 2022 and January 2023). She has also undertaken an elective placement in the Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery department of Estaing University Hospital, Clermont – Ferrand, France (March 2023). During her academic years, she has manifested a strong research interest, participating in several projects. Most notably, she has completed a research internship for more than 1 year (April 2021 – June 2022) in the Allergy and Immunology Laboratory of the 2nd Pediatric Clinic, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, participating in the EU – Horizon 2020 project CURE (Constructing a 'Eubiosis Therapy' for Asthma) and delivering a poster presentation as a first and presenting author in the EAACI European Congress 2022. She is also co – author in 2 publications in international PubMed – indexed peer – reviewed medical journals. She is a European Resuscitation Council – certified BLS and ILS provider ‘with instructor potential’. Moreover, she is Deputy Secretary General, member of the Board of Directors, in the Cancer Prevention Research Group in Greece (CPRGGreece) and she has undertaken leadership roles in the Hellenic Medical Students International Committee (HelMSIC), in the Scientific Society of Hellenic Medical Students (SSHMS). Since November 2022 she has been a volunteer healthcare assistant in the Doctors of the World, Greece (Médecins du monde, Grèce).
