Dr. Konstantinos P. Economopoulos

- ResumeKonstantinos P. Economopoulos graduated from the University of Athens, School of Medicine and subsequently acquired a PhD degree in Molecular Biology at the same University and a Master in Biomedical Engineering with focus in medical device design at Duke. He currently works as a General Surgery Resident at Duke University Medical Center. Prior to that he was a Senior Research Scientist at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School after completing a 6-year post-doc research fellowship at the same hospital. The main areas of his research interests focus on medical innovation and medical device design. He served as a non-resident Premedical Advisor of Pforzheimer House of Harvard University and as a Coordinator of the Harvard-MGH Surgery Interest Group. He has published more than 120 scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals with a total mean impact factor of >5 and >100 presentations and posters in national and international meetings. His work has been cited more than 4,300 times. He is the inspirator and member of the Audit Committee of the Society of Junior Doctors.
